Processed at the Fairtrade-certified Kii Factory, this lot represents the meticulous work of the Rung’eto Farmers Cooperative Society. Situated high on the slopes of Mount Kenya, the cooperative’s farms benefit from Nitisol — a rich, volcanic soil celebrated for driving the intense, complex characteristics native to the region. Under quality-driven leadership, the cooperative has heavily modernized its infrastructure, installing pristine tiles across all washing channels and fermentation tanks while implementing advanced water reuse systems to protect the local environment.
This commitment to excellence is reflected throughout their rigorous post-harvest craft. Following a meticulous hand-harvest, the cherries are processed through an Agaarde pulping machine that immediately sorts the beans by density, ensuring only the highest-grade coffee advances. The pulped beans undergo a shaded, temperature-controlled dry fermentation for 18 to 36 hours. Afterward, they are thoroughly washed and graded once more in the upgraded tiled channels, often resting in an overnight soak to maximize cup clarity. Finally, the clean parchment is spread across raised African drying beds for up to 20 days, carefully covered during the intense midday sun and at night to protect the cellular structure and preserve the coffee’s innate sweetness.
Your order is processed and shipped within 1–2 working days. Delivery takes 1–2 working days in Portugal and 3–5 in the EU.

Keep the bag sealed, away from direct light, at room temperature. For best results use the coffee from day 7 to day 60 after roasting. Grind fresh before brewing.
We do not cut costs on green coffee, and we try to work with the same producers and importers season after season. If you want to know what we paid for a lot or how it scored on the cupping table, ask us: we are glad to share.
