Led by Wildan Mustofa and Atieq Mustikaningtyas, the Frinsa Collective represents a bold departure from traditional Indonesian coffee production. Originating in the Sindangkerta area of West Java (locally known as Sunda), the couple set out to elevate the region’s specialty coffee reputation. While many local producers historically rely on conventional wet-hulled methods, Frinsa focuses on pristine, alternative preparations. By sourcing high-quality cherries from a dedicated network of local smallholders cultivating at elevations up to 1,500 meters, the collective provides a sustainable platform that champions meticulous agriculture and pioneering post-harvest techniques.
To guarantee exceptional cup quality, all processing is centralized at the Java Frinsa Estate, allowing the team to maintain strict oversight from the initial harvest through to final ventilated storage. Following rigorous hand-sorting, this specific “Edun” lot undergoes a highly specialized anaerobic natural preparation. The team introduces Lactobacillus, a probiotic bacterium, to drive a strictly controlled and transparent fermentation environment. Adapting to West Java’s deeply humid climate, the coffee is then expertly dehydrated in specialized greenhouses before finishing on parabolic dryers and patios. This exacting approach yields Frinsa’s signature complex style, beautifully marrying vibrant, boundary-pushing fermentation characteristics with remarkable structural clarity.

Keep the bag sealed, away from direct light, at room temperature. For best results use the coffee from day 7 to day 60 after roasting. Grind fresh before brewing.
We do not cut costs on green coffee, and we try to work with the same producers and importers season after season. If you want to know what we paid for a lot or how it scored on the cupping table, ask us: we are glad to share.
