As a fifth-generation producer, Alex Herrera carries forward a profound family legacy on the slopes of Guatemala’s Atitlán Volcano. Raised amidst the daily rhythms of coffee cultivation, Alex seamlessly bridges time-honored agricultural traditions with advanced technical training and modern processing innovations. His forward-thinking leadership focuses on meticulous traceability and sustainable practices, ensuring the family’s micro-lots meet the rigorous demands of the global specialty market while deeply respecting the local community and surrounding environment.
This unwavering dedication to agricultural excellence is beautifully showcased across the family’s historic estates. Acquired in 2024, Finca Los Andes revitalizes a 19th-century property, blending its storied past with contemporary cultivation techniques in the volcano’s foothills. Higher up the slopes overlooking the lake sits Finca Pampojilá, an estate meticulously renovated by the family in 2012. Here, the coffee plants thrive in nutrient-rich volcanic soils beneath a protective blanket of natural mist. Together, these carefully managed farms deliver exceptional, highly traceable lots that capture the rich centennial history and dynamic terroir of Atitlán.

Keep the bag sealed, away from direct light, at room temperature. For best results use the coffee from day 7 to day 60 after roasting. Grind fresh before brewing.
We do not cut costs on green coffee, and we try to work with the same producers and importers season after season. If you want to know what we paid for a lot or how it scored on the cupping table, ask us: we are glad to share.
